Questions and Answers
Are there any events for Sunday evenings?
Sunday night services start at 5:00 p.m. Join us as we examine the Bible in a less formal environment. During this service all of our pastors take turns sharing from God’s word. There is also worship choir practice, Children’s Choir, and Studies that address specifics in everyday life.
Is childcare provided?
Yes! We offer childcare for babies through kindergarten. During “ Big Church ”, we have age appropriate worship service for grades one through five in G-FORCE, our children’s church. This worship service offers relevant Bible study and large group fellowship featuring music, drama, videos, and much more. Childcare is offered Sunday and Wednesday nights also.
What does Parkwood Have for my Family?
At Parkwood it is our desire to be a family. We make every effort to have interactive and engaging ministries for individuals as well as families. Our ministries include infants to seniors and everything in between. We know that it is our job here to prepare not only individuals but families to live their faith in the world today. Please check our ministries link to where your family can join ours.
What is Bible Study?
Bible study for all ages is at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday morning. Through Bible study classes, in addition to learning from the Bible, this is where you can connect with others at similar stages of life; people will encourage you with you becoming an encouragement to others.
What should I expect when I visit Parkwood church?
Parkwood is a neighborhood church that is committed to reaching Arlington for Jesus. That means we are a church as diverse as the neighborhood we live in. Our church accepts and appreciates people of all economic backgrounds, education levels, ages, and ethnicities. Rather than let those distinctions divide us we celebrate our differences in Jesus Christ. At Parkwood you will find a place to receive encouragement, a family that will accept you with open arms, and a place where you can grow in the Lord. At Parkwood Baptist Church No One Stands Alone!
What should I wear?
Simply, whatever you like. You will see some people in ties and some in blue jeans. We know God is much more concerned with a person's heart than their clothes. We want you to come as you are and come how you are comfortable.
When are the worship services?
Our Sunday morning worship and praise service begins at 10:30 a.m. The music is a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary praise, the messages are practical as we present the ageless truths of the Bible in a format that's easy to understand, even if you've never been to church. Wednesday night services start at 6:30 p.m. after our family dinner that starts at 5:15 p.m.
When should I arrive?
We suggest arriving 10 minutes before the service if you are brining children. Be sure to look for our visitor parking spots close to the building when you arrive and then ask one of our greeters to get directions to Sunday school rooms.
Where are you located?
Parkwood Baptist Church is located at 7900 Lone Star Rd. in the heart of Jacksonville . We are just minutes from Arlington expressway and 9-A.
